About Crosspoint Homestead Ranch

Once you have children, your life is forever changed

Where it all began

Hi, I’m Natalie. My story begins in 2009 when my oldest son was diagnosed with ADHD, and the school and doctors wanted him medicated. I knew too many kids who ended up being meth addicts because of the ADHD medications available. So, after changing pediatricians, several times, I finally found one that would be willing to help my son through diet. This was the start of my natural healing journey. At this time, I began learning about essential oils and learning about the dangers of vaccines.

In 2015 I moved to Prosser with my husband and children. My husband, Matt, and I had a desire to live naturally and grow it all ourselves. Two wonderful friends (that so happy to be my former in-laws) gifted us a set of Runner ducks. I’m glad they had faith in me! At this point I hadn’t been able to keep anything but children and dogs alive.

I met some wonderful people that were willing to teach me how to milk a goat, how to start seeds, how to grow a garden thanks to a good friend (Jo) who introduced me to all these fine people. I even learned how to make a loaf of bread from scratch. It was a very educational and uphill climb that first year.

Matt and I bought our first two goats, some chickens, and a huge pile of homesteading books. I researched for hours while homeschooling two of our children, having a tiny tornado toddler zooming around, zipping back and forth from school functions/ meetings for the two oldest, and diving in headfirst with goats, poultry …… and then some pigs (which I will never do again, if you know, you know). Once I had my first tomato turn red, I knew I could do the rest.

I now grow almost everything we eat. All of the meat except fish is grown on my land and butchered with our own hands. I grow or glean all of my fruits and veggies (occasionally needing to supplement through winter). We learned to cure our own meats and cheeses. I milk our animals for cheese, butter, and milk products. We grow almost all our own herbs for medicinal and cooking purposes. We also now make our own wines, vinegars, and spirits that we can use for tinctures.  Our goal is to ultimately be off grid food wise completely as soon as possible. Homesteading has become the way I live, not a hobby, and my family is healthier for it. We have created a space where my family has nutritional and medical freedom away from the mainstream big pharmaceutical industry and big food.

I am a perpetual learner. As I learn I will share with you all. I will have recipes, how-tos and more.

It all started with my little boy needing me to change the way I did things and has resulted in me becoming your local natural weirdo that I embrace being.  I hope that you will come along this journey with us!

A good marriage isn’t something you find, it’s something you make, and you have to keep on making it. I’m thankful that we continuously choose each other first. The road hasn’t been easy, but there is no one I would rather live along side.
